This is my first Doom level, and I made it for a level design jam organized by Steve Lee.

The theme of this jam was "Non-linearity", so what I came up with was a level that allows to be completed in 2 different main paths that interconnect (I couldn't really think of anything original possible in the Doom engine)

I learnt UDB from scratch to make this, but since the community has made such an amazing tool and many wonderful tutorials, this was a breeze!

I will adventure into more complex stuff later, such as the UDMF map format, that actually allows real scripting, but for this, it's still the original Doom 2 map format.

------------------------REQUIREMENTS------------------------

You will need the Doom2.wad

I used a texture pack made by the community (OTEX). It is included in this .zip, so follow the instructions below to make it work fine.

It is playable without OTEX, but most textures will be missing :(


-To play MARUXAINA correctly, you simply need to place all .wads inside the GZDoom main directory (DOOM2.WAD, MARUXAINA.wad & OTEX_1.1.WAD)

-Then, open MARUXAINA.wad with GZDoom (You can simply drag and drop the .wad into the .exe), and that should be it!

+If GZDoom asks for which .iwad to use, simply choose Doom 2.


It is a short level (4-7 minutes), and it has only been tested for hard difficulties, but I did adapt it for easier modes if you can't handle it.
